For Reviewers

Peer review is an essential part of the editorial process at Central Asian Cancer Sciences and is intended to ensure the scientific quality, objectivity, and integrity of published research.

Selection of Reviewers

Reviewers are selected by the editors based on their scientific expertise, publication record, methodological knowledge, and relevance to the subject of the submitted manuscript.

Whenever possible, reviewers should be independent of the authors and should not have significant professional, academic, financial, or personal conflicts of interest.

Manuscripts proceeding to external peer review are generally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

Reviewer Requirements

Reviewers should:

have relevant scientific or clinical expertise;

have experience in research and/or scientific publication in the relevant field;

conduct reviews objectively, independently, and professionally;

maintain the confidentiality of manuscript materials;

provide reviews within the requested timeframe; and

disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

Reviewers should decline an invitation if their personal, professional, or academic relationships with the authors could compromise the objectivity of their assessment.

Confidentiality

All materials received for peer review must be treated as confidential until publication.

Reviewers must not share, cite, use, or disclose unpublished manuscript content to third parties without permission from the Editorial Office.

Reviewer Reports

Reviewer reports should be objective, constructive, evidence-based, and respectful.

Reviewers are encouraged to assess, where applicable:

originality and scientific significance;

suitability of the manuscript for the journal;

clarity of the research question and objectives;

study design and methodological quality;

appropriateness of statistical analysis;

validity and interpretation of the results;

consistency of the conclusions with the presented evidence;

ethical conduct;

completeness and transparency of reporting; and

relevance to clinical practice or cancer research.

Comments should be sufficiently specific to enable authors to understand and address the concerns raised.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest before undertaking a review.

Conflicts of interest may include recent collaboration or co-authorship with the authors, affiliation with the same institution, personal relationships, professional competition, financial interests, or any other circumstance that could affect the objectivity of the review.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts, portions of manuscripts, tables, figures, or other confidential materials to generative artificial intelligence systems without explicit authorization from the journal.

Reviewers remain fully responsible for the content and confidentiality of their reports.

Reviewer recommendations are advisory. The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated handling editor based on the overall assessment of the manuscript, reviewer reports, and editorial judgment.

Recognition of Reviewers

Central Asian Cancer Sciences recognizes the important contribution of reviewers to maintaining the quality and integrity of scientific publishing.

With the reviewer's consent, the journal may provide a certificate of peer review and acknowledge reviewers' contributions through appropriate journal recognition initiatives.
