Conflicts of Interest
Central Asian Cancer Sciences is committed to transparency and integrity throughout the editorial and publication process. All participants—including authors, reviewers, editors, Editorial Board members, and journal staff—must disclose any financial or non-financial relationships or activities that could influence, or be perceived to influence, their professional judgment.
Conflicts of Interest for Authors
At the time of submission, all authors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest and all sources of funding related to the submitted work. Authors must also describe the role of the funding organization, if any, in the study design, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of results, manuscript preparation, or the decision to submit the manuscript for publication.
If no competing interests exist, authors should state: "The authors declare that they have no competing interests."
All declared conflicts of interest and funding information will be published with the accepted article.
Conflicts of Interest for Peer Reviewers
Invited reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation. Reviewers who have financial, professional, academic, institutional, or personal relationships that could compromise their objectivity should decline the invitation or consult the handling editor before proceeding.
Reviewers must not use confidential information obtained through peer review for personal, professional, or financial advantage.
Conflicts of Interest for Editors
Editors must perform their editorial duties impartially and independently. Editors must not participate in the editorial assessment, peer review, or publication decision of manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including manuscripts submitted by themselves, family members, close collaborators, colleagues, students, or researchers from their own institution, or manuscripts involving organizations, products, or services with which they have a financial or professional relationship.
When a conflict of interest exists, editorial responsibility will be assigned to another qualified editor who has no competing interests.
All editors and Editorial Board members are required to complete conflict of interest disclosures upon appointment and to update these declarations annually or whenever relevant circumstances change.
Conflicts of Interest for Editorial Board Members
Members of the Editorial Board are expected to disclose any relationships or activities that could influence their editorial responsibilities. Editorial Board members must not participate in editorial decisions involving manuscripts for which they have a conflict of interest.
Management of Conflicts of Interest
The Editorial Office evaluates all disclosed conflicts of interest before editorial decisions are made. When necessary, appropriate measures—including reviewer replacement, editor recusal, or additional independent review—will be implemented to ensure an objective and unbiased editorial process.
The journal follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) https://www.icmje.org/disclosure-of-interest/ and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) https://publicationethics.org/guidance/case/conflict-interest for the identification, disclosure, and management of conflicts of interest.
