Central Asian Cancer Sciences (CACS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical principles and expects authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher to uphold standards of honesty, transparency, accountability, and responsible conduct throughout the publication process.

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must receive prior approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee and must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki https://www.wma.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DoH-Oct2013.pdf .

Where applicable, manuscripts must provide:

the name of the Ethics Committee or IRB;

the approval number or reference;

a statement confirming ethical approval.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with applicable national and institutional ethical requirements.

Informed Consent

Written informed consent must be obtained from participants whenever required by applicable ethical standards. For manuscripts containing identifiable patient information, clinical photographs, radiological images, or other identifiable material, explicit consent for publication must be obtained.

Authors must ensure that patient confidentiality is adequately protected and that identifying information is removed whenever possible.

Clinical Trial Registration

Prospective clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible clinical trial registry before enrollment of the first participant, in accordance with applicable international standards. The trial registration number and registry name must be provided in the manuscript.

Authorship

Authorship must comply with the ICMJE Recommendations. https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/

All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work, participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, approved the final version, and agreed to be accountable for the work. A CRediT Author Contribution Statement https://credit.niso.org/ is required for all submissions. Honorary, guest, and gift authorship are not permitted.

Acknowledgements

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged with their permission. Authors should disclose relevant assistance, including technical, editorial, or administrative support where appropriate.

Research Misconduct

CACS does not tolerate research or publication misconduct.

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

fabrication of data;

falsification or manipulation of research results;

plagiarism;

inappropriate image manipulation;

duplicate or redundant publication;

manipulation of the publication or peer-review process;

undisclosed conflicts of interest;

inappropriate authorship practices.

Where concerns arise, the journal may investigate the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with recognized publication-ethics standards.

Duplicate and Redundant Publication

Manuscripts submitted to CACS must represent original work and must not have been published previously or be under consideration by another journal. Substantial overlap with previously published or simultaneously submitted work must be disclosed by the authors.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance of a manuscript. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by commercial interests, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, nationality, gender, ethnicity, or other non-scientific considerations.

Complaints and Ethical Concerns

Authors, reviewers, and readers may raise concerns regarding possible ethical or publication misconduct.

CACS will review such concerns objectively and confidentially and may request additional information or documentation from authors, institutions, or other relevant parties when necessary.

Corrections and Retractions

When an error or ethical issue is identified after publication, CACS may publish a Correction, Retraction, or Expression of Concern, depending on the nature and severity of the issue. Published articles will not be removed solely because of minor errors that can be corrected transparently.

Health Equity and Inclusion

Central Asian Cancer Sciences is committed to promoting health equity, diversity, and inclusion in cancer research and scholarly publishing. Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit and are made without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, race, sex, gender, religion, disability, age, or socioeconomic status.

Authors are encouraged to report sex, gender, and other relevant demographic characteristics in accordance with the SAGER Guidelines where appropriate.

Reporting Data on Sex and Gender

Central Asian Cancer Sciences endorses the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) Guidelines and encourages authors to report sex and gender appropriately in study design, data analysis, results, and interpretation whenever relevant. Authors should clearly define the terms sex and gender and justify their inclusion or exclusion where applicable.

Inclusion in Authorship and Peer Review

Central Asian Cancer Sciences is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion among authors, reviewers, and editors. Reviewer selection and editorial appointments are based on scientific expertise, while encouraging broad representation across geographical regions, institutions, career stages, and demographic backgrounds.

Inclusive and Respectful Communication

The journal is committed to respectful, accurate, and inclusive scientific communication. Images, figures, and editorial content should avoid stereotypes, discrimination, stigmatizing language, or misleading representations and should reflect diversity where appropriate.

Responsible Communication

The journal is committed to the accurate and responsible communication of published research. Editorial content, press releases, and social media communications should present research findings fairly, accurately, and within their appropriate scientific context.

Sharing Results Before Publication

Authors may share research findings with scientific meetings, public health authorities, regulatory agencies, funding organizations, and collaborators before publication. Such communication does not affect editorial consideration provided that the journal's confidentiality and preprint policies are respected. Authors should not present unpublished or non-peer-reviewed findings as accepted or published by the journal.

Press releases, media communications, and public announcements regarding accepted articles should be coordinated with the Editorial Office. Information released before publication must accurately reflect the status of the manuscript and comply with the journal's editorial policies.
